Contribute a piece
Active Vision House welcomes considered pitches about countryside landscapes and the experience of looking closely at them. Send proposals through the Contact page; a clear idea, a defined reader and a reason the subject belongs here are more useful than a polished full draft.
Subjects that fit
We are interested in accessible pieces about rural views, changing light, weather, landscape forms, buildings in their setting and ways to observe a familiar place more attentively. A pitch might explain a visual feature, compare two ways of reading a scene, offer a concise historical background or propose a seasonal observation. Avoid claims that require readers to make safety-critical decisions, and do not frame an article as professional advice.
A useful pitch
Tell us the working title, the central idea, the intended reader and the shape of the piece. Explain what a reader will understand or notice by the end, and mention the sources or expertise the subject would require. Include a short note about your relevant experience if it helps assess the proposal, but do not send sensitive personal information. Do not assume that an accepted pitch guarantees publication.
How to send it
Use the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Keep the message focused and include a way to reply. Please do not send a complete commissioned-length article unless it has been requested. If a proposal is not a fit, it may not receive a detailed editorial response.
A view is never just a view
The countryside changes with season, weather and work. Taking time to notice those shifts makes familiar places newly legible.
